This class is 4 weeks in a row, 1 hour each week.
We'll practice foundational skills that all pups and pet parents can benefit from! These skills work to build great leash manners, fantastic recall, and set you on a path to train other desired behaviors.
No prior experience is necessary.
Week 1: Understand training foundations and how a multi-purpose reward systems can minimize the cues your dog needs to know.
Week 2: Recall three ways. Learn multiple ways to call your dog!
Week 3: Freeze, follow, and free. Practice specific cues to let your pup know where to go.
Week 4: Combining skills. Work to use the prior week's skills together.
All dogs must be dog-friendly and up to date on rabies, distemper, parvo, and Bordetella vaccines.
Please reach us at fortheloveofsnouts@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
First of all, welcome! Once you sign up, you'll receive a short form to fill out and sign and be asked to provide your pup's vaccine records. You'll also receive the class schedule, where to go, and what to bring!
For the safety of all dogs in the community, we require that pups are up-to-date on their distemper, parvo, rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. They should also be comfortable around other dogs on-leash. Dogs may be intact or altered, but if a female is in heat, she should not attend class that week.
While these basic obedience behaviors are helpful to learn, I find that most pet parents can do this well at home. My goal is to provide essential skills that will serve you and your dog long-term.
Group classes are held on my property, outdoors, in a fenced area. There will be no more than 6 dogs per class.
Classes are held rain or shine unless there are particularly bad storms. In that case, we'll extend the class by one week.
